On Friday, January 27, 2023, a team of 14 public health experts visited St. Kizito Clinic Jakande for a mid-term review meeting with the facility.
The team consisted of representatives from United State Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Lagos State Tuberculosis, Biruli ulcer & Leprosy Control Program (LTBLCP) and the Centre for Integrated Health Programme (CIHP).
The team arrived at about 11:00 am, they first converged in the conference hall of St Kizito Clinic, where they were received by the Medical Director Dr Alda Gemmani and the team head of the TB LON 3 Project, Dr Ndidi Nwosu. After addressing them, they moved to the Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTs) unit, where TB patients are attended to. Then, they split into 4 groups and began the interview, which lasted for over an hour.
Thereafter, they proceeded back to the conference hall for a debrief. The head of each group of interviewers shared their observations and recommendations. They commended the management and staff of St. Kizito Clinic. Specifically, they said the clinic environment was clean, the staff had a strong knowledge of their roles and they had no challenge pulling out data from the recording & reporting (R&R) tools of the facility. All in all, it was an excellent review and a successful visit thanks to the management and staff of St Kizito Clinic.
